Reasons of Jihad from Quran
TO LIBERATE MUSLIM LANDS
And kill them wherever you overtake them and expel them from
wherever they have expelled you,
and fitnah is worse than killing.
And do not fight them at al-Masjid al- Haram
until they fight you there.
But if they fight you, then kill them.
Such is the recompense of the disbelievers.
TO PROTECT AND HELP THE OPPRESSED
And what is [the matter] with you that you fight not in the cause of Allah and [for] the
oppressed among men, women, and children who say,
“Our Lord, take us out of this city of oppressive people and appoint
for us from Yourself a protector and appoint for us from Yourself a helper?” [4:75]
TO TAKE REVENGE OF A UNJUST MURDER OF A MUSLIM BY NON MUSLIMS
O you who have believed, prescribed for you is legal retribution for those murdered –
the free for the free, the slave for the slave, and the female for the female.
But whoever overlooks from his brother anything,
then there should be a suitable follow-up and payment to him with good conduct.
This is an alleviation from your Lord and a mercy.
But whoever transgresses after that will have a painful punishment
IF A NATION BETRAYS OR ENGAGE IN
PROMOTION OF HATRED AGAINST ISLAM (ON MASS SCALE)
And if they break their oaths after their treaty and defame your religion,
then fight the leaders of disbelief,
for indeed, there are no oaths [sacred] to them;
[fight them that] they might cease.
AS A RESPONSE TO FOREIGN AGGRESSION
Fight in the way of Allah those who fight you but do not transgress.
Indeed. Allah does not like transgressors.[2:190]
WHEN THE FITNAH AGAINST THE MANKIND EXCEEDS TO THE LIMIT
THAT ISLAM BECOMES STRANGE TO THE WORLD
Fight them until there is no [more] Fitnah and
[until] worship is [acknowledged to be] for Allah .
But if they cease,
then there is to be no aggression
except against the oppressors.
And fight them until there is no fitnah and
[until] the religion, all of it, is for Allah .
And if they cease – then indeed,
Allah is Seeing of what they do. [8:39]
AS A LAST RESORT WHEN TWO GROUPS OF THE BELIEVERS MAKE UNFORTUNATE WAR AGAINST EACH OTHER
And if two factions among the believers should fight,
then make settlement between the two.
But if one of them oppresses the other, then fight against the one that oppresses
until it returns to the ordinance of Allah .
And if it returns,
then make settlement between them in justice and act justly.
Indeed, Allah loves those who act justly [49:9]
